Government Relations, Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (1986-1992), representing the manufacturers of all major home appliances sold in the U.S.  Negotiated and lobbied to passage P.L. 100-12, The National Appliance Energy Conservation Act, setting federal energy efficient standards for home appliances and preserving a national marketplace for the industry.

Marketing, The Hardaway Company, a heavy construction company; CEO, International Incinerators, Inc., a waste to energy company; Vice President, Howard P. Foley Enterprises, Inc., then the third largest electrical contracting company (1980-1984)

Government Relations, The National Constructors Association. Conceived and directed the U.S. and Overseas Employees Tax Fairness Committee and its successful campaign to repeal 1976 Section 911 tax law changes adversely affecting American competitiveness in world markets (1977-1980)

Office of Congressional Relations, U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration. Responsible for the implementation, coordination and review of ERDA's congressional activities for environment, safety, planning and analysis, and for the General Counsel's Office. (ERDA succeeded the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission and was a predecessor agency to the Department of Energy) (1975-1977)

Counsel, Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, U.S. House of Representatives; Administrative Assistant to Congressman John B. Anderson, Illinois, and Administrative Assistant to Congressman Ralph E. Regula, Ohio (1971-1975)
